You’ve all been to sporting events or music festivals, so you’ve probably noticed venues, athletes, commercials – you name it, covered in company logos and slogans. Corporate sponsorship is arguably one of the most effective ways to get your brand noticed. In addition to brand awareness, corporate sponsorship shows people that your company is giving back to the community. In this blog, I will talk about why sponsorship is important and the benefits associated.

  1. Brand Awareness: Today, nearly everyone uses some sort of social media platform or another, and that number is only going to increase. A simple blog post or promotional message can go a long way. However, brand awareness goes beyond social media. Sponsorship gives you the opportunity to attend different events. Not only does this mean that your logo will be plastered all over banners, signage, and promotional materials, but this also means you get to network – which brings me to my next point.

  2. Networking: Attending and sponsoring events gives you the perfect opportunity to network and engage with the community. You get to talk to other industry professionals, students, etc. about your company. In terms of recruitment, this is a great way to discuss potential employment opportunities. Most networking events will give you access to resume banks. This actually saves you time searching for qualified applicants.

  3. Change Peoples’ Attitudes: Corporate sponsorship can actually change the way people look at and perceive your brand. Sponsoring arts & culture, environmental, health, or educational organizations shows people that your company cares about these things. People will know that your company is generous.

  4. Everybody Wins: Sponsorship is a win-win for both parties. Your company and brand gets the exposure you’re looking for, while the organization gets the money and support it needs to stay running. If both parties are happy, this can lead to a long-lasting, healthy sponsorship relationship – which takes us to our last and final point.

  5. Long-lasting Relationships: Building and maintaining relationships with your sponsor is crucial. It is important that you keep your sponsors up-to-date with what’s going on. Acknowledging their contribution with updates or newsletters shows them that their support is important and meaningful to you – and this will lead to continuous support.
